Credit Checks

To process your application, we may search for your details on licensed Credit Agencies. These agencies will keep a record of this search confirming your details and the reason why the search was carried out. This record may be used by other lenders to assess any further applications for finance you may make in the future. They will do this to make a lending decision and for fraud prevention. These searches can also be used to prevent financial crime and to trace people with outstanding debt. Be advised that information held by Credit Agencies may be linked to members of your household or partners past and present. Your application may be looked at as if you are financially connected to these individuals as associated records. If, as part of this application, a Lender Decision in Principle is requested the Lender would conduct a soft or hard credit search on all applicants. This may leave a mark on each individuals credit file that can have a negative on overall credit scores. It is important that the information you provide is honest and correct. The information must provide a complete picture of your current circumstances. You are responsible for the information provided, as all recommendations made for products or services are done so based on this. If incorrect information is given the provider or lender may invalidate your application. Providing incorrect or false information, or if there is a reasonable suspicion of a criminal offence or fraud is identified the details will be shared with the relevant fraud prevention agencies, regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies. Organisations other than ourselves may also access any information recorded by the agencies listed above to prevent fraud and money laundering. Examples of when this could happen are:

  • Checking application details for credit or credit related facilities
  • Managing existing credit and credit related accounts
  • Debt management and recovery
  • Checks of job applicants and current employees

We ensure that all transactions relating to our services are covered by and adhere to Money Laundering regulations and the Proceeds of Crime Act. We are responsible for the verification of identity and address of our clients along with other checks. These checks may include searches via the Electronic Identification and Verification Service, as well electronic checks of the electoral roll and use of credit reference agencies. We may also require proof of your income and expenditure to meet regulatory guidelines. Loan Quotes At all times we take care to ensure the accuracy of all loan quotes provided. Loan quotes are generated on the latest information from the lenders at the time they are generated. Please be advised that lenders on our panel reserve the right to amend or change %APR or % APRC rates and the criteria by which applications are underwritten at any time without notice. This can result in a change to the secured loan that you have been offered and may result in the secured loan offer being withdrawn. Any processing time periods offered from submitting an application or receiving your secured loan funds are only a guide. Delays can occur if documentation requested of yourself or a third party are not provided in a timely manner. It is also important that you remember that if you are consolidating existing borrowing you may reduce your monthly outgoings, but you may also be extending the term of the debt and increasing the total amount payable. As with any lending it is important that you keep up the repayments. Failure to do so could lead to defaults, CCJ’s and bankruptcy. This would affect your ability to obtain credit in the future. Using the information you provide we will place you with the partner that best suits your needs. We do not charge you for this service as we are paid a fee by the partner we place you with. Each partner has a range of products they can offer you and will work to find the best loan to suit your individual circumstances. You are not obliged to take any product that is offered. The Partner that you are passed to will have their own set of Terms and Conditions which we recommend you read.
